The 7mm Rem Mag is a winner if you want something supersonic out to 1600 yards (I’ve even hit targets at 1 mile with mine) with relatively mild recoil when used with a muzzle brake or suppressor. Brakes work by redirecting gas, so it makes sense that the more gas a cartridge produces … the more benefit the brake can potentially provide. Since clearly the brakes are much bigger than that, it makes sense that it was hardly 1-3%. It goes a long way.
